Facebook’s New Gaming App
Facebook has launched a new standalone app for live-streamed gaming content.
Facebook Gaming involves a mix of casual games and access to gaming communities. The app has a ‘Go Live’ button which lets people see streams of other mobile games.
The app was originally due to be launched in June but the release was sped up due to the rise in social media usage during lockdown.

LinkedIn Polls & Presentation Mode
LinkedIn is developing its own poll option for posts, which will allow users to query their LinkedIn followers.
The new poll option is available within your post composer options and when selected, users will be able to add a question, include up to four possible answers to choose from and set the poll duration.
Polls will be available through both desktop and mobile apps, as well as within LinkedIn groups.
In addition to this, LinkedIn is also testing a new hashtag ‘Presentation Mode’ which would showcase the broader conversation attached to specific hashtags on the platform in full screen format.
When selected, you will be presented with a full-screen feed of posts using that tag.

Facebook Care Reaction
Facebook is adding a care reaction as a way for people to share their support during the Coronavirus pandemic.
This will join the six existing reactions and will start being rolled out this week, along with a pulsating heart on Messenger.

Spotify Podcast Playlists
Spotify is rolling out three curated podcast playlists in the US, Germany, Sweden, UK, Mexico and Brazil.
The three playlists are called ‘Best Podcasts of the Week’, ‘Brain Snacks’ and ‘Crime Scene’ and will be updated on a weekly basis. They will be localised to each of the six countries and will be populated by curators in each location.
The playlists aim to get people who already listen to podcasts to build a habit around listening on Spotify, and to encourage people who have never listened to a podcast to search for something new.

Google Shopping Updates
Google will stop charging merchants to list products on its Google Shopping search pages, as e-commerce has become a vital sales channel for retailers in the current climate.
Starting from next week, search results on the Google Shopping tab will mostly show free listings from merchants, even those that don’t advertise on Google Search. This change will give online retailers free exposure to millions of people who use Google for shopping.
Advertisers can augment their campaigns with free product listings, making them easier for Google shopping users to find.
The free listings are available to existing customers of Google’s Merchant Center and Shopping ads but the company is also working on making the onboarding process for new customers easier.

Campaign of The Week
Apple has graced us all with yet another beautifully crafted ad highlighting the power of creativity.
The campaign shows ways in which, although many of us are apart, people are finding creative ways of coming together using technology. Apple commented on the ad saying “We have always believed deeply in the power of creativity. Now, more than ever, we’re inspired by people in every corner of the world finding new ways to share their creativity, ingenuity, humanity and hope.”
